Bernie announces retirement from AFL

REPORTER: Peter Argent

YORKE Peninsula’s longest-serving AFL footballer Bernie Vince has announced the 2018 season will be his last at the top level.

Bernie’s story might not be over yet, as he is fighting to return from injury and join his teammates in their first finals quest for more than a decade.

He hopes to play in the VFL this weekend as long as his body holds up at training, possibly building to a fairytale AFL finish.
