Jetties close amid storm
FLINDERS Ports closed public access of the Wallaroo jetty amid safety concerns, today (Thursday, September 29).
General manager marine operations Carl Kavina said the safety of stakeholders was Flinders Ports' top priority.
"We are constantly monitoring weather conditions and will reopen the jetty at Wallaroo as soon as it is safe to do so," Mr Kavina said.
The move follows the unprecedented closure of Flinders Ports seven ports yesterday (Wednesday), with all ports remaining closed to shipping operations today.
Flinders Ports is urging all recreational port users to stay safe and avoid coastal waters until the storm subsides.
Wallaroo jetty is the latest to close, with the state government also shutting its jetties.
