Fishing for comment regarding Spencer Gulf aquaculture policy

ALMOST 30 people attended community meetings about the Eastern Spencer Gulf Zone Aquaculture Amendment Policy last Wednesday and Thursday, October 19 and 20.

Stakeholders from local government, development boards, conservationists and potential users of the aquaculture sites listened to a presentation from PIRSA Fisheries and Aquaculture senior policy officer Jade Davison before having the opportunity to ask questions.

Yorke Peninsula’s current aqua­culture industry, mostly oyster farms, generates $10.1million annually.
