Earthquake recorded near Moonta

IF you live south of Moonta and felt the ground shake or the windows rattle yesterday (Monday) about 1pm, you weren’t dreaming.

A 3.1 magnitude earthquake was recorded nine kilometres south of Moonta at 1.03pm.

“This is something exciting for the local area that doesn’t happen very often,” consulting geophysicist Dr David Miller said.
