NOW THAT CUTS DEEP

Massive outcry, but Yorketown surgical services are gone

ALL urological, gynaecological and general surgical services will be cut from Yorketown Hospital, effective immediately.

Country Health SA announced the services will relocate to Wallaroo yesterday (Monday, June 26) despite overwhelming  community opposition.

Member for Goyder Steven Griffiths described the move as a shocking day for health services in the region.

That is typical of our current health minister. He is too busy showing people around the new RAH to take the time to really listen to rural people and try and solve the issues they face. I am disgusted that the people who are supposed to serve us in politics spend more time worrying about what will get them the most publicity than the smaller problems of us in the country. Our situation could be solved if they put a bit more time and thought into it but instead they just put it in the too hard basket. You get more votes for a new hospital in the city than fixing one in the country. I would like to see them be over here and need the services that we have lost and see what they think, without the many privelages they receive as a politician!

What happened to our signed petition did that not count. When i attended the health consutation all they talked about was the numbers. They did not listen to us.ou

Disgraceful! Dad may not be here if it weren't for the these life saving services they provide at Yorketown Hospital. Very upset!
