State pitching in for synthetic turf

YORKE Peninsula hockey players have dreamt of a local synthetic hockey pitch.

Those dreams are closer to realisation, after Kadina Hockey Club scored a $117,000 grant from the state government for the installation of an AstroTurf pitch.

The funding, from the state’s Community Recreation and Sports Facilities Program, would help the club install the synthetic surface on the front hockey field on Drain Road, Kadina.
