I CONTACTED the Royal Flying Doctor Service chief financial officer for costs to fly a patient from Wallaroo Hospital to the Royal Adelaide Hospital. The cost is $1170 per flying hour, invoiced direct to SA Ambulance Service which pays the RFDS.

NOW is the time for the powers that be at Wallaroo Hospital to set in motion an agenda for extending and upgrading the hospital so it will be able to cope with the influx of extra patients, due not only to the closure of Yorketown, but also as our population is increasing rapidly, especially as we are an ageing society.
