Improving crops in sandy soils

A STUDY aiming to improve crops grown in sandy soils is being spearheaded by the Grains Research Development Corporation.

The study is part of a five-year collaboration involving GRDC, the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation, University of South Australia, Mallee Sustainable Farming and Agrow Agronomy.

It will be based on outcomes from PIRSA’s New Horizons soil modification program, which uncovered soil modification treatments which could increase yields by 70-180% on sandy soils.
