LIKELY returns from improved nutrient management techniques and the opportunity to boost farm profit while managing risk is the subject of a new three-year GRDC investment in the southern growing region (South Australia, Victoria and Tasmania).

Dr Mason says the project will begin with an economic analysis of soil and plant testing approaches, including frequency, rotation phase, sampling intensity, soil depths and controlled traffic paddocks sampling.
