Not enough hours or jobs for young people

MORE than 650,000 young people were unemployed or underemployed in February 2017, according to Australian Bureau of Statistics data.

The youth underemployment rate, people who have some work but want more hours, was 18 per cent and youth unemployment 13.5 per cent.

“Stable work is the passport for our young people to build a good life for themselves,” Brotherhood of St Laurence spokesperson Tony Nicholson said.
