Local opportunities from federal budget

ROADS and major projects have received a funding boost in the federal budget, and local councils will be hoping to benefit.

University students, welfare recipients and people who are anti-vaccines are among the losers from the budget, announced by treasurer Scott Morrison on Tuesday, May 9.

Councils can soon apply for grants through the Supplementary Road and Building Better Regions Programs.
