SYP “open-range zoo” discussed

TURNING southern Yorke Peninsula into a wildlife reserve was discussed at Minlaton last Wednesday.

Northern and Yorke Landscape Program coordinator Dr Andy Sharpe presented about the idea, called Rewilding YP, to the SYP Landcare Group and a small contingent of locals.

The project would involve fencing off part of SYP to keep pest animals out, and then reintroducing locally-extinct animals.
