Barunga Village an accredited dementia Butterfly home

AGED care facility Barunga Village has made history, becoming the first accredited provider of the Butterfly Household Model of dementia care in Australia.

The model of care was developed in the United Kingdom, and has focuses on emotions and allowing residents to live in the past.

It was introduced to Port Broughton about 12 months ago when Barunga Village’s former dementia wing was split into two houses and refurbished.
