Wet start for August

YORKE Peninsula towns are close to breaking their monthly rainfall average just days into August.

Heavy rain was recorded across the peninsula with Edithburgh receiving 47.6mm this week, 1mm less than its monthly average.

Arthurton received 48.4mm while 55mm fell in Maitland and 62mm in Warooka. Stansbury re­corded 26.6mm in 24 hours from 9am on Sun­day, August 6, according to the Bureau of Meteorology.
