SA to lose a federal seat at next election

SOUTH Australia will lose a representative at the next federal election and the local electorate of Grey is expected to grow even larger.

Redistributions of South Aust­ralian federal electoral boundaries have formally started, and the state will decrease from 11 to 10 seats.

“Based on population changes, it was determined Victoria and the ACT would each gain one seat and SA would lose one seat at the next federal election,” Australian electoral commissioner Tom Rogers said.
