Concerns over plan to dump silt in gulf

CONCERNS have been raised about a plan to dump silt dredged from Port Adelaide into Gulf St Vincent.

Flinders Ports has applied to dredge 1.55 million cubic metres of material to widen the channel at Outer Harbor by 40 metres, allowing bigger ships to pass through.

However, numerous groups have issues about dumping the waste product into the gulf.
