Attracting entertainers to Yorke Peninsula is even more difficult, as there are few venues big enough to house large crowds.
However, if you are willing to travel an hour or so to Port Pirie you will be treated to some quality Australian and international acts.
Comedian Carl Barron entertained a sold-out crowd at the Northern Festival Centre on Thursday and Friday, June 7 and 8.
This was my first time seeing Carl live and he did not disappoint with his unique style of relatable comedy.
He had the crowd in stitches with his dry humour and even threw in a few jokes about Port Pirie after doing his research.
Comedy would have to be one of the hardest forms of entertainment and I applaud anyone who can get on the stage for two hours or more and keep the crowd laughing throughout.
The centre has attracted some big names, including Kate Ceberano, Akmal Saleh and others.
Some of the upcoming shows include Ahn Do, Kasey Chambers and ABBAsolutely Fabulous starring Rhonda Burchmore and Lara Mulcahy.
