Volunteers needed for survey

NATURAL Resources Northern and Yorke is recruiting volunteers for the hooded plover count this month.

BirdLife Australia mobilises volunteers to survey thousands of kilometres of New South Wales, Victorian and South Australian coastline to record numbers of this small, threatened coastal bird every two years.

“The next survey will take place between November 10 and 25, with volunteers still needed at a number of coastal towns, as well as remote stretches of the coastline,” NRMNY landscapes ranger Janet Moore said.
