Anglers cast their lines in Port Hughes contest

ABOUT 100 competitors took to the seas for the Port Hughes Angling Competition on Saturday and Sunday, October 27-28.

Anglers tried their best to win longest snapper, longest whiting and longest squid categories as well as other prizes including worst boat launch, most helpful competitor and best boat name.

Conditions on day one were fantastic for fishing, with a high tide late in the afternoon, while day two was slightly more challenging and many reported the fish weren’t interested in biting.
