Dental Health Week is here, and Moonta and Ardrossan Dental are proud to join the Australian Dental Association to raise awareness about the importance of taking care of your teeth and gums, so you can keep your teeth and smile for life.
“We may think everyone is practising good oral hygiene, but the reality is that the oral health of many Australians is not where it should be,” Dr Rawinderpal Singh said.
“Treat your teeth with love and respect and they will be your friends for life!”
The teams at Moonta and Ardrossan Dental want to help educate you on the key basics of oral health to ensure you avoid the burden of oral disease.
“Good oral health begins with brushing your teeth twice a day with fluoridated toothpaste, cleaning between your teeth using floss once a day, eating a healthy, balanced diet with limited added sugar and visiting the dentist regularly, about every six months for a check-up and clean,” Dr Rawinderpal said.
“It should not be a normal expectation you will lose your teeth as a part of getting older because of tooth decay or gum disease.
“Instead, you should expect to keep your teeth for a lifetime.
“After all, you don’t expect to lose an arm or leg, so why expect to lose any of your teeth?
“We understand you are busy and probably have a million things on your to-do list, but good oral hygiene is easy and can be seamlessly incorporated into your daily routine.”
Ardrossan Dental is taking appointments on Tuesdays and Fridays each week at 8837 3069, while the team at Moonta Dental can be contacted on 8825 1116.
