WHEN Gabby Morby opened the doors to her Kadina bookshop One More Page in early December, it was the realisation of a lifelong dream to share her love of books.
The light and airy shop on Hallett Street is just the place to indulge your own love of reading, to encourage young readers, or to find the perfect gift.
Gabby stocks a range of books for all ages, along with T2 specialty tea products, board games, and bookish giftware from candles to lapel pins, socks to notebooks, and bookmarks to tote bags.
“I’m an avid reader and have loved reading for as long as I can remember,” she said.
“It wouldn’t matter if it was 2am or if I was already 10 minutes late somewhere, I just couldn’t put a good book down.
“I have been saying ‘one more page!’ ever since I started reading, so it’s the perfect name for my shop.
“When people walk into One More Page, they will find a calm space, where they can take a break from the busy world outside and enjoy a moment to themselves around books which inspire, motivate, educate, and help them escape for a little while.”
Gabby said the local community had already been so supportive and welcoming to her venture.
“I’m just so happy to be here, and the fact many others are happy the shop is here, brings me an indescribable amount of joy,” she said.
“I don’t think I’ve stopped smiling since I opened!
“I love hearing about the books other people have loved and why, and enjoy helping people find their next favorite read.
“It has been so heart-warming to reach other book lovers like myself and give them an easy and local option for buying books.
“I look forward to being open a very long time and to seeing more and more book lovers discovering One More Page.”
Gabby said she was beyond grateful to her fiance Sam Angove and family for their invaluable support of her new venture.
