There is no better place to shop for your Christmas hams, with the team recently bringing home third place for its leg ham on bone from the Australian Meat Industry Council South Australian Sausage King final.

“It was an exciting presentation dinner and the judging panel expressed congratulations to all with top quality products which created a tight competition,” manager Robert Waters said.

“We were really proud to come away with wins for our ham, with a third in the Best Butchers Beef Burger for our farmhouse rissoles and second for our Traditional Australian Pork Sausage.

“The pork sausages and rissoles were products we also did really well with at regional level, so it was great to have that recognition too.

“It all comes back to the quality of our produce with our pork coming from our own all female piggery, Ant Hill Piggery.”

With Christmas fast approaching, now is the time to get your meat orders in to make sure you don’t miss out.

“Every one of our staff is involved in the manufacturing process, it takes real teamwork to create products for our customers,” Amelia “Shaz” Phillips said.

“From the farmers right through to the process workers, it’s all important in creating quality meats.”

The team at Desmond’s will maintain normal opening hours during the Christmas break, and wish all customers a safe and happy Christmas and New Year.
