COPPER Trails Bike Hire is giving locals and visitors alike the chance to explore the Copper Coast region from a different perspective.

Owners of the Moonta-based business, Anne and Colin Minion said they were inspired by similar offerings in other regions.

“We rode the Riesling Trail on E-Bikes many years ago, and loved that you could go somewhere, have those experiences but also have a bit of luxury because of the bike,” Anne said.

“We could see the possibility for the same here on the Copper Coast because the level of trail infrastructure was growing and people are looking for experiences when they travel.”

Copper Trails Bike Hire is a return to the local business community for Anne who, with her late husband, established Copy King in Kadina almost 20 years ago.

“Colin is an avid cyclist, for many years he’d cycle to work and we would go to the Tour Down Under to watch as well,” Anne said.

“So far, all the feedback we’ve received has been really positive and we’re currently getting further plans in place.”

Riders can cruise around on a top-of-the-line E-Bike or classic universal model while the vintage bike is perfect for riding through the towns.

“We offer people the option to hire for four hours, eight hours or per hour,” Anne said.

“We also have a baby seat which can be hired out with the universal bikes.”

Copper Trails Bike Hire is also offering a drop-off service for each bike hire.

“You can hire a bike from anywhere in Moonta, Moonta Bay or Port Hughes and we will drop it to you and pick it up for free, but there is a small charge for Wallaroo, Kadina and a little further out,” Anne said.

Every bike hire includes the use of a helmet, lock and a bottle of water.”
