AS the town revels in its 150th birthday, Maitland Crash is celebrating its own big advancement.
The crash repairer has recently added a large shed to its Robert Street premises, expanding capability and bringing new infrastructure to the town.
“We offer crash repairs, spray paint work, touch ups, we have a loan car we can offer, towing if it’s needed and storage as well,” owner and operator Peter Brazier said.
“I began the business on my own 12 years ago and it’s developed since then with the addition of my son and two locals to the team.
“Now with our new shed, it feels like we can do a lot more and it’s secure as well, which means we don’t need to worry about leaving cars out overnight.”
Peter said it was wonderful to be a part of the town’s history during the first 150 years.
“I love working in Maitland, it’s a lot easier than if we were in a bigger city and there’s such a good feeling about the town,” he said.
“I’ve got to know all the farmers and local businesspeople which helps build a connection and we get to deal with people from as far as Warooka, which really opens up the whole peninsula.
“This 150th celebration is a big moment for Maitland, because you go back a few decades and it was the big hub for activity on the peninsula.
“Here’s hoping the town is here in another 150 years.”
