YORKE Peninsula residents have the opportunity to study closer to home, thanks to the Copper Coast University Centre and Uni Hub Spencer Gulf.

A wide range of locally supported degrees is available through the Uni Hub’s university partners, CQ University, Flinders University and the University of Adelaide. These degrees are in the fields of health and community support, engineering, education and business management.

Students studying one of these supported degrees can access a wide range of academic and course support.

“The Uni Hub helps students every step of the way for these supported degrees — from the enrolment process with the universities and orientation week, through to ongoing support throughout their studies with face-to-face mentoring, tutorials and industry placements,” campus coordinator Sue Barry said.

“It means students don’t have to go it alone.”

In addition, any student studying at an Australian university can access the Copper Coast University Centre free of charge.

The centre, in the Kadina library, is accessible to any tertiary enrolled student from 6am to midnight, seven days a week.

“We give students the space to study in peace, without the interruptions they may face in a home environment,” campus coordinator Sue Barry said.

The centre was established by the Copper Coast Council through the federal government’s Regional University Centre Program.
