SISTERS Susan Daniel and Bronwyn Dayman, along with Susan’s daughter Candice and her husband Grant Donald, purchased Kadina Carpet Court in 2015.

Susan had been in the industry since 2001 and Bronwyn had been working as a sales representative for a curtain and blind company, as well as operating her small window furnishings business, when they made the move.

They entered what had traditionally been a very male dominated area of floor coverings.

They realised there were a number of customers travelling to Kadina from Port Pirie and surrounds to the store, so they opened Port Pirie Carpet Court in 2018.

Susan managed the Port Pirie store until October, when a manager was appointed, and she now manages the new Clare store.

“We now support three business owners, 10 staff and a number of subcontractors,” they said.

“We travel everywhere from Whyalla, Port Augusta, Peterborough, Saddleworth, Port Wakefield and the entire Yorke Peninsula providing in home consultations and measuring.

“We then price various options and submit quotations before progressing a variety of jobs, in order to improve customers’ homes and their lifestyles,” said Susan.

Bronwyn and her son Luke also install what they sell.

“We’re really making people’s homes comfortable and beautiful,” they said.

Bronwyn and Susan are active participants at state Carpet Court functions and franchise meetings and will be attending the Carpet Court National Conference in Darwin in May, as the company celebrates its 50th anniversary.
