NOMINATIONS are open for Australia Day awards across the Yorke Peninsula.

Barunga West, Copper Coast and Yorke Peninsula Councils will again partner with the Australia Day Council of SA to celebrate the achievements of outstanding members within their communities.

BWC is set to award a Citizen, Young Citizen and Community Event of the Year in 2024.

Mayor Leonie Kerley said Barunga West was surrounded by remarkable people making real differences.

"From young leaders to those who have dedicated their lives to community service, the awards honour their commitment and achievements," Mrs Kerley said.

"Through the awards, we can acknowledge those who have significantly contributed to making our region a better place.

"I urge you to take this chance to say 'thank you' by submitting a nomination."

CCC will recognise a Citizen, Young Achiever, Community Club and Community Event of the Year.

Mayor Roslyn Talbot said the Copper Coast had a great community with so many people making large contributions.

"I don't think any volunteer does what they do for recognition but it is always nice to know what you do is appreciated and these awards are a way to show that appreciation," Mrs Talbot said.

"We have so many quiet achievers and these awards are an opportunity to highlight their efforts."

YPC mayor Darren Braund said the awards acknowledge unsung heroes of the community who make the peninsula a better place.

"These individuals and organisations offer outstanding service each day and enable our communities to be stronger as a result of their tireless efforts," Mr Braund said.
