THE Everest has been conquered and the Melbourne Cup run – now it’s time to get ready for all the fun of the 2024 Jim Barry Clare Valley Cup on Sunday, December 1.

The picturesque Clare Valley Racing Club will again host the $40,000 Clare Cup, marking 129 years since the event began.

Fashion in the field will be judged in four categories: The Bold for gents, The Beautiful for ladies, Klassy Kids for fun, and Best in Show will round out the day.

Judges will be Clare and Gilbert Valleys Council mayor Alan Aughey, Lisa Robertson from Kadina and Clare Jewellers and The Advertiser fashion editor Anna Vlach.

For the children, Father Christmas will drop by the track, and a face painter will help them become their fantasy character.

Bookmakers and a full TAB will be available, plus a big screen for all the action.

The Riley Car Club will bring some classic automotive gems to the track to add to the glamour.

Food vans will include Lisa Latte, Spuds n More, and others offering Indian delights, yiros, burgers, barbecue food and more.

There will also be seated dining in the Dunstan Pavilion are on offer, you can book a seat in the Picnic Garden, or just bring a rug and relax on the lush lawns.

Trackside marquees are available and would make an ideal Christmas gathering for groups of family and friends or for a business function.
